# `starknet_estimateFee`

Returns an estimate of the fee required for the network to process the specified transactions, at the specified block.

## Parameters[​](#parameters "Direct link to Parameters")

- `request`: (array) [_Required_] A sequence of [Starknet transactions](https://docs.starknet.io/documentation/architecture%5Fand%5Fconcepts/Network%5FArchitecture/transactions/)to estimate gas fees for. If multiple transactions are provided, each transaction is simulated on the state resulting from applying the previous transactions.
- `block_id`: [_Required_] The block parameter object containing one of the following:  
  - `block_hash`: (string) Block hash.
  - `block_number`: (integer) Decimal block number.
  - One of the string tags `latest` or `pending`.

## Returns[​](#returns "Direct link to Returns")

A sequence of fee estimates corresponding to the sequence of requested transactions. Each fee estimate object contains:

- `gas_consumed`: The Ethereum gas consumption of the transaction.
- `gas_price`: The gas price (in gwei) that was used in the cost estimation.
- `overall_fee`: The estimated fee for the transaction (in gwei), product of `gas_consumed` and `gas_price`.
